Responsibilities
- Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge funds, fund of funds, private equity, real estate).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide industry and subject matter expertise.
- Review tax calculations and information on state income tax returns.
- Build and maintain client relationships; supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of recent experience preparing or reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, with technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX license (or other approved credentials). If not possessed at hire, obtain within one year.
- Experience with pass-through entities and relevant state tax concepts.
- Ability to foster internal and client relationships.
- Strong team player with high energy and excellent communication, research, and management skills.
