In this role, you will manage the global tax provision process, reporting to the Director, Global Tax Reporting. You will work closely in coordination with a team of federal, state, and international income tax specialists to ensure seamless reporting of the global reporting process and ensure accuracy of worldwide tax accounting positions.
As the Manager, you will partner with teams in Global Finance and Global Tax to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and achieve the goals and priorities of Expedia Group.
The specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Financial Reporting - Manage the interim and annual U.S. GAAP income tax provision, including:
- Coordinate with Accounting and FP&A for managing financial statement forecasts
- Prepare and review the global income tax provision, including:
- Effective tax rate
- Current provision
- Deferred provision
- Return-to-provision adjustments
- Stock-based compensation deductions
- Uncertain tax positions
- Valuation allowance
- Tax account roll forwards
- Journal entries
- Prepare financial reporting deliverables, including:
- Income tax footnote
- Global cash taxes
- Executive presentations
- Prepare payable proofs and deferred proofs
- Maintain internal control evidence and process documentation for SOX compliance
- Support the financial statement audit
- U.S. Tax Compliance:
- Assist with taxable income calculations and forecasts
- Prepare and maintain audit-ready workpapers in accordance with the team's documentation standards
- Tax Planning and Modeling Support tax forecasts and models associated with planning / business initiatives and changes in tax legislation and summarize the anticipated effects on U.S. taxes and the company's effective tax rate.
- Technology and Automation Support the evolution of tax technology tools and technology enhancements.
- Controls and Process Transformation Maintain and prepare process documentation and support ongoing process transformation while ensuring adherence to controls and policies.
- Leadership Mentor and coach staff.
Who you are:
- At least 6+ years of public accounting experience in ASC 740 with one of the Big Four firms or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive and demonstrable technical skills related to general accounting principles, ASC 740, and federal and state income tax concepts, with exposure to U.S. international tax concepts
- Exposure to complex transactions preferred but not required
- Tax provision and compliance software experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Strong aptitude for identifying and implementing process improvements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong tax research skills
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $177,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
