Recruiting Specialist

Our Recruiting Specialist plays a key role in the talent acquisition process, responsible for sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates with the goal to fill open positions and meet the DCM's workforce needs. This individual will play a crucial role for DCM to stay competitive in the market. The Recruiting Specialist will work closely and collaborate with hiring managers, developing recruitment strategies, and while ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Your role in caring for our company:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Utilize various sourcing methods, including online job boards, social media, networking, and referrals, to identify and attract potential candidates.
  • Build and maintain a network of potential candidates for current and future hiring needs.
  • Maintain the company's ATS, ensure job descriptions, templates, and requisitions are updated regularly.
  • Review resumes and applications to assess candidate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone or video interviews to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to hiring managers on market trends, candidate availability, and best practices in talent acquisition.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Facilitate the interview process, ensuring timely and constructive feedback to candidates.
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Communicate effectively with candidates, providing information about the company, job opportunities, and the overall recruitment process.
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and candidate pipeline status.
  • Use data and analytics to make recommendations for process improvements and optimize recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to extend job offers to selected candidates.
  • Assist in negotiation processes and ensure a smooth transition for candidates during the onboarding phase.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities in collaboration with HR and management, including collection of required documents, orientation scheduling, and first-day readiness.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires, responding to any onboarding related questions or concerns.
  • Monitor onboarding progress and follow up with HR and management to ensure all necessary tasks are completed.
  • Gather feedback from new hires about their onboarding experience and suggest process improvements as needed.

Qualifications we ask you to have:

  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have a Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communications (Bachelor's Degree Preferred).
  • We ask that you have three (3) years with exempt and non-exempt recruiting experience in full life-cycle environment, including management of multiple high-volume roles simultaneously (manufacturing and/or retail industry preferred).
  • We ask that you have a minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • We ask that you are comfortable and proficient utilizing a ATS and other recruitment tools.
  • We ask that you are technology savvy, extensive experience in MS Office is a plus.

Addition skills which will help you excel in your role:

  • Ability and willingness to learn about different positions within the company.
  • Passion about talent acquisition methods.
  • Ability to scan large volumes of resumes.
  • Good understanding and experience with HR tools such as ATS and HRIS.
  • Ability to conduct different types of interviews.
  • Ability to design and implement recruiting strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A working knowledge of employment law and legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to foster collaboration, be a team player, though also independent and self-motivated.
  • Coachable and can take full ownership of personal development, regularly soliciting feedback from teammates including those supervising, colleagues, and supervisor/s.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a high production environment!
  • Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and desire to be accountable, transparent and proactive.

Work Schedule/Location:

This is a hybrid position with the expectation to report into the different facilities/stores located in Maryland and the District of Columbia at least once a month to meet with the management teams. There may be times this individual will be required to assist and report to one of the facilities/stores for HR meetings, activities and initiatives.
