Position Overview:
As an Underground Utility Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of underground utility projects, including water, sewer, storm drain, and other civil infrastructure work. Youll work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure bids are complete, timely, and aligned with project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop bid strategies and value engineering options.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in estimating underground utility or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (but not required).
