PART TIME TRAUMA REGISTRAR - TRAUMA CENTER Starting at $32 per hour, negotiable Reports to: Trauma Program Director Job Summary: Reporting to the Trauma Program Director, the Trauma Registrar will assist in the efficient operation of the Trauma Patient Registry by abstracting the medical record and inputting accurate and complete data as required for American College of Surgeons compliance, NYS Department of Health reporting, as well as other agencies and reports. The Trauma Registrar is responsible for data collection, both abstracting and analyzing, data entry and data completion. Will help to prepare for site visits from accrediting agencies. Will assist the Trauma Program Manager by collecting and tracking data and analyzing as appropriate. #Will prepare reports as needed and will maintain consistency and quality in the data collection system, including admissions, abstracting, coding and entering information into the trauma database. Will retrieve data for quality assurance purposes. Also will remain compliant with New York State Trauma requests for data. #Assists with Performance Improvement initiatives. Essential Job Qualifications ###### 1.### Education: High School graduate.# Associate degree preferred in healthcare or related field. 2.### Experience: Minimum of 1-3 yrs experience in a hospital setting working directly with the Trauma Registry preferred. Familiar with the 2022 Standards of the American College of Surgeons Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.# Required to demonstrate knowledge of medical record content, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Demonstrate experience in computer data entry, databases, and data retrieval is desirable. #Familiar with the usage of the electronic medical record. 3.#### Training/Certification:# Must have the ICD-10 Course certificate dated within the past five years.# Must obtain the certificate from the Trauma Registry Course and obtain the Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification within 2 years of hire. ###### 4.### Other: Must have strong critical thinking skills. Must be able to multitask in a fast paced and strenuous environment. Must have a positive and courteous demeanor.
