The Event Security Manager will oversee security operations for NBA and WNBA games, concerts, family shows, and other events, ensuring the safety of guests, staff, performers, and players while upholding exceptional service standards. This exciting role offers a chance to break into the sports and entertainment industry, managing and developing security staff, coordinating with internal teams, law enforcement, and venue partners, and implementing all security protocols and procedures.

What Will You Do:

Lead all aspects of event security operations for NBA/WNBA games, concerts, family shows, and private events including deployment, response and communications ensuring staff coverage is appropriate for each event profile. Develop and execute event-specific security plans in coordination with event management, team operations, tour security and public safety agencies. Serve as a primary point of contact for event security-related incidents and emergencies. Build and maintain a high-performing team with a strong emphasis on safety, professionalism, and guest experience. Recruit, manage, and supervise full and part-time event security staff. Ensure compliance with NBA, WNBA, and industry-wide security standards, protocols, and lead scenario-based training sessions to prepare for various emergency situations. Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement ongoing training programs for part-time staff covering emergency response, crowd management, de-escalation, access control, and arena policies. Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team performance and readiness. Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Operations, Guest Services and Event Management. Assist in the development and review of arena-wide emergency action plans and standard operating procedures. Prepare post-event reports detailing security performance, incidents, and areas of improvement.

What We Need from this position:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience. +2 years security management experience within sports, entertainment, or public venues. Experience managing large-scale security teams, training programs, and event-specific deployments and operations. Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing full-time and part-time event security operations and teams. Strong communication and collaboration skills with high emotional intelligence. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability and desire to obtain security certifications (CPP, NCS4, FEMA/NIMS ICS, First Aid/CPR, Crowd Manager). Understanding of NBA/WNBA security standards and operational intricacies a plus.
