Material Planner

Job DescriptionJob Description Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Material Planner job for our direct client in Stamford, CT. In this role, you will support production planning by identifying material shortages, maintaining inventory accuracy, and generating purchase requisitions in alignment with manufacturing schedules. You will work closely with buyers, inventory teams, and production leadership to ensure timely procurement of sub-assemblies and catalog items. Material Planner Job Responsibilities: Analyze strategic demand and identify material shortages for procurement based on production needs Create purchase requisitions and maintain item lead times, usage rates, and inventory parameters Track, expedite, and monitor supplier delivery performance and manage outside service orders Participate in inventory management activities, including KANBAN systems and item tracking Coordinate with buyers and internal stakeholders to support just-in-time material availability Maintain accurate records and ensure a clean and organized work area Support vendor quoting, negotiation, and order follow-ups Use historical consumption data and strategic planning to optimize purchasing strategies Implement blanket orders and inventory reduction plans where applicable Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelors degree , ideally in Business or Supply Chain Management 35 years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with ERP systems Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Self-starter with a proactive mindset and attention to detail Ability to identify and act on buying and planning opportunities If you are interested in this Material Planner job in Stamford, CT, please apply now to be connected with a member of our team.
