Job Summary:The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the efficient movement of goods into and out of a warehouse or facility, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and safety. They handle both incoming shipments, verifying and storing them, and outgoing orders, preparing and dispatching them. This role often involves tasks like verifying inventory, managing paperwork, operating warehouse equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Supervisory Responsibilities:No supervisory responsibilitiesDuties/ Responsibilities:Receive shipments, unload, verify and inspect incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders. Maintain accurate inventory records, update databases and ensure sufficient stock levels. Package, label and prepare outgoing shipments by selecting appropriate packaging, adhering to shipping labels, and ensuring proper documentation. Arrange outbound shipments, select carriers, prepare shipping documents, and coordinate pickups or drop-offs. Quality control inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or defects, ensuring products meet quality standards. Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including incoming and outgoing, for reporting and record-keeping purposes. Operating equipment use of hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move and load materials. Safety compliance and adherence to safety procedures and maintenance of a clean and organized work environment. Address discrepancies, damages, or shortages in shipments and coordinating with suppliers or shippers to rectify issues. Willingness and ability to perform other duties, including production team member duties, is required.Required Skills/ Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory, paperwork, and workflow.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to interact with suppliers, shippers, and team members. Computer proficiency of inventory management systems, printing of labels, and electronic paperwork completion.Attention to detail: Important for verifying accuracy in shipments and inventory records. Physical stamina: This role can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods. Basic math skills: For calculations related to inventory, shipping, and costs. Experience with warehouse equipment: Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Safety awareness: Understand and follow safety procedures. Education and Experience:Logistics, Business Administration degree or equivalent experience of 5 years or moreForklift driving experience requiredPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Infrequent, but regular, periods of strenuous physical activity will be requiredMust be able to lift 50 pounds or more required
