We are currently hiring a Software Engineer for the GA-EMS Radar Technologies Directorate. In this capacity, the Software Engineer will be responsible for developing Radar application software targeted for a Linux environment. The Software Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering within the Radar Technologies Directorate. This is a hybrid role that requires an in-office presence based on project needs, including lab integration and in-person collaboration meetings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

Design and implement new software applications using C++ and Python.

Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications

Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, repeatable software delivery.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and requirements.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and performance problems.

Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards.

Job Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in computer science, information systems or a related discipline and progressive software development experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education

Proficiency in C++ or a comparable language (e.g., Rust, Go, C).

Solid understanding of object-oriented design and system-level programming.

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:?

Experience building, deploying, and managing containerized applications using Docker or similar technologies.

Web based user interface experience

Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.

Knowledge of networking, IPC, or hardware-software integration.

Experience with real-time application development

Exposure to unit testing frameworks and agile methodologies.

Experience using AI to assist with software development tasks
