Global Risk Management (GRM) leads bank-wide initiatives for management of all aspects of risk, including strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, model, and reputational risk matters to support sustainable, profitable corporate growth. In a data-driven economy, strategic data asset management is foundational to add to the enterprise value. Within GRM, we have established the Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function. A key pillar of this function is a strong data management, data architecture, and data platforms foundation. Under the GRM DSM Executive’s leadership, the Data Strategy Solutions Architect will evaluate the existing GRM data architecture and design solutions to simplify and optimize the data environment. The architect will also contribute to the architecture for the Risk Data and Reporting Platform, enabling Data Management and Reporting capabilities for risk lines of business. Additionally, they will evaluate data tools, conduct Proof of Concepts, and develop remediation plans for implementation. Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge of data solutions, data platforms, data management & governance practices and standards. Uses architecture tools to create design artifacts, including Data models/architecture, API design, and data solutions architecture. Leads strategy & architecture for data management products such as Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Feeds Registry, Data Quality, and related data services. Designs data products to provide high-quality data for quantitative modeling solutions for GRM. Performs assessments of the health and maturity of data & information capabilities for GRM. Designs new data solutions and capabilities to support risk lines of businesses. Defines the mission, goals, success factors, principles, and procedures for data strategy and information architecture. Builds business cases to secure approval and funding for Data and Analytical efforts. Manages linkages from information capabilities to technical assets, understanding end-to-end change impact. Maintains logical data models and data flows to understand data interdependencies. Required Skills: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or Analytics, with 6+ years of experience in data platform/solutions and data management architecture; or Master’s degree with 5+ years’ experience. Experience in designing and developing data solutions, data management & governance products, and data/reporting platforms. Expertise in complex design patterns, microservices, API design, data warehouse, data lakes, and data pipelines. Knowledge of data strategies like data mesh, data contracts, and integration fabric. Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores and big data environments. Hands-on skills with data technologies such as Python, Spark, Airflow, JavaScript, and SQL. Ability to research and prototype new data technologies and solutions. Experience in data modeling for complex pipelines, lakes, and platforms. Experience with data management platforms like Collibra or open-source frameworks such as Apache Atlas, Amundsen, Datahub, Marquez. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including data visualization. Desired Skills: Knowledge of data storage formats like Apache Iceberg, Hudi, Delta Lake, Parquet, JSON, and Avro. Experience with graph processing and storage technologies, such as Knowledge Graphs or Property Graphs, and graph stores like TigerGraph.
