We are transitioning to a 24-bed multi-acuity neuroscience unit and are seeking highly motivated, adaptable individuals with an interest in caring for these patients to partner with experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and physicians in a collegial and collaborative department. We will provide training in the neurologic exam, common acute neurologic conditions, neuroimaging, EEG, and common neurocritical procedures.

Qualifications Strongly Preferred
Nurse Practitioners with Acute Care Certification or Physician Assistants with inpatient neurology or neurocritical care experience
Responsibilities Will Include
Management of neurocritical care and step-down patients in collaboration with an attending physicianManagement of regular nursing floor patients with neurologic disorders, mostly stroke or seizuresProvision of Brain Attack evaluation and treatment services
Requirements to be considered
Nurse Practitioner Required Credentials
Graduate of an accredited DNP or MSN Advanced Practice Registered Nurse programCurrent RN and APRN license in the state of OhioBoard Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.Current BLSCurrent Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within first year of practiceMeets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within MetroHealthMaintains a standard care arrangement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Physician Assistant Required Credentials
Graduate of an accredited Doctoral or MS Physician Assistant program.Current PA licensure in the State of Ohio.Board Certification as a Physician Assistant from NCCPCurrent BLSCurrent Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within first year of practiceMeets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within MetroHealthMaintains a supervision agreement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of Medicine
