Our Commercial Services (VCS) division is redefining the way businesses and consumers connect and communicate.

As the Marketing Director for Viasat Energy Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Oil & Gas. Reporting to the VP of Marketing for VCS and closely collaborating with the VP of Energy Services, you will lead and develop the marketing strategy and plan and oversee the execution of key marketing projects, campaigns, and programs.

Our Energy Services business focuses on providing advanced communication and information technology solutions. Our services are designed to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and connectivity for remote offshore energy assets, including oil rigs, jack-up platforms, and massive floating installations

The day-to-day

Marketing Strategy and Planning: Support the development of a fully integrated marketing and communications plan that is aligned with objectives and targets set by the Energy Services Business Development teams and VCS Marketing team. Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and increase market share. Establish KPIs and complete evaluation/reporting after each project to measure effectiveness. Leverage market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes, and use insights to inform strategy development. Create detailed tactical plans that outline key deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. Ensure that marketing planning is integrated with business development strategies, maximizing the impact of each initiative. Experienced in leveraging online channels such as social media, search engines, and email to promote products, services, and brands. Skilled in creating and managing comprehensive marketing campaigns, analyzing data to gain insights, and optimizing strategies to achieve business goals. Sales Support and Content Development:

Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver high-quality, effective, and 'on-brand' audience-centric projects from the marketing plan for the Energy Services business line. Help generate materials such as case studies, brochures, presentations, press releases, articles, videos, and infographics to assist the promotion of our service portfolio. Support the development of value propositions for the launch and sustainment of new products and/or features by promoting the capabilities as a solution to customer pain points, supporting development of these from initial conception through launch and beyond. Work closely with external partner companies to provide marketing support and sales enablement materials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce high-quality marketing content, such as case studies, whitepapers, and promotional materials. Content development for social media posts that help promote solutions, services, wins and general Viasat Energy Services activities. Product marketing

Develop and refine product positioning and messaging to clearly communicate the value and benefits to target audiences. Create compelling product narratives and value propositions for various market segments. Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new and existing products, including launch timelines, naming, pricing strategies, and promotional activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, customer support) to ensure a cohesive and effective market entry. Create and deliver sales tools and training materials to help the sales team effectively communicate the product's value and features. Partner with the sales team to gather feedback and insights to refine strategies and product offerings. Track and report on key marketing metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, and customer engagement. Use data and analytics to optimize marketing strategies and improve ROI. Develop and lead customer engagement programs, including webinars, events, and workshops. Facilitate customer feedback and use it to drive product improvements and marketing initiatives. Technical Marketing Expertise:

Possess a deep understanding of the Energy Services industry, including key technologies, platforms and managed communications. Translate complex technical concepts and solutions into clear, compelling marketing messages and sales pitches to effectively communicate the value and capabilities of Viasat's Energy services. Stay current with the latest advancements in communication technology and incorporate this knowledge into marketing and sales strategies. What you'll need

10+ years of experience in marketing and sales, ideally within highly technical/complex product marketing for communication services. Demonstrable marketing generalist experience with understanding across product, channel, digital, social media, content creation, advertising and agencies, with deeper experience in one or more of these areas. Proven organizational and project delivery experience, as well as a history of multi-tasking and working under pressure. Influencing and negotiation skills to manage people to deliver through a matrix and to balance the needs of Energy Services against the resources available. High degree of literacy, first class written communications skills. Budget and time management. Solid experience of working with external agencies and suppliers. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of the offshore oil and gas industry, including key communication technologies, platforms, and systems. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling marketing and sales strategies. Working knowledge of digital marketing tools. Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. What will help you on the job

Experience in Oil & Gas industry is preferred. Knowledge of AI in marketing a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative working style. Fast paced, quick thinking and delivery focused.

Salary range

$143,000.00 - $225,500.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $177,500.00- $266,500.00/ annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
