Role Overview : We are seeking an experienced Balancing and Control Valve Product Category Manager who will have global responsibility for our Flow Design portfolio, as well as Americas responsibility for localization of our global Portfolio to join our team.

As a Product Category Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the Americas strategy for the Balancing and Control Category in commercial and light industrial applications within the overall Commercial Portfolio strategy. The Balancing and Control Category contains Balancing Valves, Control Valves, Actuators, and related sensors and accessories. This includes managing the entire product lifecycle, driving innovation based on market and customer insights, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends. The Product Category Manager works cross-functionally to optimize portfolio performance, margin, and market share.

Key Responsibilities : Category Strategy

Develop and execute the category strategy aligned with the Portfolio objectives. Identify market opportunities, assess competitive landscape, and define target customer segments

Portfolio Lifecycle Management

Own the product lifecycle from early-stage ideation to phase-out. Determine the product offering within the category to meet customer needs and maximize sales growth and profitability Monitor portfolio performance (revenue, margin, market share) and drive improvement actions Define and optimize the SKU structure to reduce complexity

Customer & Market Insight

Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape, conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new product opportunities and improve existing offerings Source customer- and market challenges as material for customer-led innovation, to identify high-quality problems to solve and develop differentiated and high-value solutions Establish and nourish relationships with sales teams and customers to achieve the customer intimacy required for successful roadmap and solution development, and to maintain a deep understanding of current and emerging market needs and requirements Translate insights into concrete product or feature development Support customer interactions and key account initiatives

Go-to-Market Support

Define and support value-based pricing strategies in collaboration with the Pricing Manager Develop clear value propositions and messaging for both products and solutions within the category Collaborate with Marketing to develop effective marketing campaigns and product launches. Guide product positioning, messaging, and target audience

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams Working closely with R&D teams during product development to make sure the outcomes match the requirements Establish and nourish relationships with sales teams and customers to achieve customer intimacy required for successful roadmap progress and a deep understanding of market needs and requirements Support forecasting and planning activities by providing market intelligence and volume projections

Critical Competencies for Success :

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field Minimum 10 years of experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Technical Sales or Designer/Planner in HVAC or fluid control industries Strong knowledge of balancing and control valves, actuator technology, and hydronic systems; building automation is a plus Deep understanding of product lifecycle management Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies. A data-driven approach is a must Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams What IMI Can Offer You

Compensation

Pay range: $145,000 - $160,000 annually

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.

Bonus eligibility: This position is also eligible for a variable incentive pay component, separate from the base salary.
