Provide a short description of the Position: Act as Expert Systems Architect working for NYS Information Technology Services on behalf of the NYS Department of Transportation to fulfill the duties as described below.
Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Duties include but are not limited to the following: 1. Collaborate with DOT, ITS, and external vendor teams to establish line of sight from NYS enterprise technology and security strategy to business capability implementation. 2. Act as Project team member as Lead Architect to negotiate change and clearly articulate complex technical and business concepts to Vendors, ITS teams and DOT following alignment with ITS Strategy and Mission as well as ITS Technical and Security Policies when solutioning Agency business needs. 3. Review the systems architecture currently in place and provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it. 4. Own/Manage Severity 1 and 2 Incident and Problem triage and coordination when impacting the Department of Transportation 5. Perform L3 Operational Technical Support at the Application Layer for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and custom built business applications. 5. Act as an escalation point to assist the L2 Operational Technical Support teams for DOT. 6. Analyze Changes to help determine impact to DOT, if any, to assist with determining testing requirements for ITS staff supporting DOT. 7. Use a ticketing system to track and manage incidents, service requests, problems, changes, and release/deployment.
