In this role you will be responsible for proxy caregiver training; administering skills competency checklists to resident care aides upon hire; quarterly observations of medication aides to verify competency with medication administration; and annual competency reviews for resident care aides. Responsibilities include: Responsible for medication administration training for the Assisted Living Department in compliance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines. Responsible for conducting proxy caregiver training upon hire and annually. Provide quarterly observation and documentation of medication aides passing medications to verify competency. Complete skills competency checklists for medication aides and resident care aides upon hire and annually. Respond quickly to all emergencies. Maintain close communication with Health and Wellness Directors. Provide educational meetings for resident care staff as needed. Provide staff in-service and education as needed. Manage licensed and non-licensed care staff as needed. Qualifications include: At least a Bachelor's Degree in a nursing field. 3+ years of nursing or direct resident care experience in a healthcare facility. Management experience. An active nursing license. A valid driver's license. Comfort and content with consistently traveling for business purposes. Professional communication and listening skills with residents, guests, and coworkers. Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents. Great management skills and a willingness and desire to work harmoniously with all staff members. Compassion and patience through your work, even when your job is stressful at times.
