Position Title: Lecturer of Biology

School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry (Continuous Recruitment) Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Job Profile: Lecturer Job Duties: While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time or full-time lecturer opportunities, and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for a lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester. Key Job Responsibilities:

Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations Department:

The Department of Biology is part of the School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry in the College of Letters and Sciences. The department is primarily housed in the Haeni Chemistry Biology Building and the Trainer Natural Resources Building on the UWSP main campus but also includes facilities on the Wausau and Marshfield campuses. The department includes 20 full-time faculty representing a wide range of subdisciplines. Their primary mission is teaching to, and performing research with, undergraduate students. Required Qualifications:

Earned the minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, in order to instruct introductory biology laboratory sections Earned the minimum of a master's degree in biology or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, in order to instruct biology courses Preferred Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in Biology or a related discipline Experience in collaborative and/or inclusionary settings Demonstrated commitment to student success Experience and evidence of success with college level instruction How to Apply:
