As an HR Representative, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on our employee experience by supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department.
The HR Representative provides a full range of administrative support assisting in recruiting processes, managing employee records, onboarding, benefits administration, and other day-to-day HR functions.
Key Responsibilities Acts as first point of contact for general employee inquiries and requests; manage and respond to emails received in careers and general HR inboxes. Coordinate and support recruiting processes including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, extending and preparing offers. Manage new hire onboarding processes, including creating employee files, coordinating IT and department setup and readiness. Maintain accurate and up to date employee records and department files; provide information for internal and external audits as requested in a timely manner. Support and track employee benefits enrollment, annual open enrollment plans and activities, and review and reconcile monthly benefit invoices. Enter employee status changes into HRIS/payroll system, including changes in pay, address, benefits and other tracked employee information. Complete off-boarding processes including preparing separation paperwork, conducting exit interviews and preparing summary reports and compilation of metrics. Assist in the planning and coordination of department programs, initiatives, events and activities. Coordinate and track required training enrollments, completions and reporting. Assist with administering the workers compensation program by filing claims and coordinating distribution of required notifications and paperwork. Support various activities related to the annual Open Enrollment program and Wellness Fair; assist with the preparation of Open Enrollment resource materials Provide support for and complete other projects and duties as assigned. Experience and Skills
At least two (2) years' experience working in human resources or related department, or certificate in Human Resources and two years administrative experience. General knowledge of human resource practices and policies; knowledge of employment/labor laws and best practices. Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Previous experience working with HR and applicant tracking systems; experience with Paylocity is desired. Ability to work well under pressure and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions. Effective time management skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to establish and maintain priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to establish professional rapport with employees, managers, executives, and others and foster positive and harmonious working relationships. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy is essential. Must possess a high level of professionalism and integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data. Able to build and maintain strong professional relationships and collaboration. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to other council locations, as needed. Compensation and Benefits :
This is a full-time position based in the Balboa Park area.
Hiring Payrate: $27.00 - $28.85 per hour.
