Field Engineer/Inspector
Selectek has partnered with a leading Civil-Geotechnical Engineering firm in Charlotte, NC, to find a Field Engineer/Inspector with ACI Certification. This role involves performing inspections and testing services for various construction materials, including soils, foundations, structural masonry, fireproofing, reinforced concrete, and post-tensioned concrete. Key Responsibilities: Conduct construction materials testing and inspections for soils, asphalt, concrete, and masonry. Review and interpret civil and structural plans to ensure compliance with industry standards. Utilize industry-standard testing and inspection methods (ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and DOT). Prepare detailed reports and documentation based on field observations and test results. Effectively communicate findings to project teams, contractors, and clients. Use field data collection software and other computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word) for reporting and documentation. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in construction materials inspection and testing (soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt). ACI Field Grade 1 Certification (Concrete Testing)
Required. At least one ICC Certification from the following: ICC Soils ICC Reinforced Concrete ICC Structural Masonry ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Strong knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and DOT standards. Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus). Proficiency in field data collection software and Microsoft Word. Additional certifications from CWI, NICET, or PTI Level I or II are a plus but not required.
