Provides direct spiritual care, counsel and support for patients, families and employees of the Memorial Healthcare System. Maintains day-to-day schedule of pastoral care rounding on patients according to need and house census. Provides on-call chaplain coverage (nights/weekends) according to need or established schedule. Provides spiritual services to patients and families across multiple hospital departments (Adult and Pediatric) using a Patient and Family Centered approach. Performs rituals and sacramental rites according to patient/family need or request. Attends clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings, working alongside medical and support staff as a direct care provider. Leads public services as well as spiritual support groups as needed or requested. Assists with various administrative tasks supporting the spiritual care program of a given hospital campus. Assesses and attends to spiritual needs of patients, family and staff, accommodating varied faith traditions and customs. Attends emergency codes and critical events as needed or requested. Works well within a team environment, functioning with independence and flexibility, managing multiple pastoral concerns and priorities. Works effectively in stressful and crisis situations, giving particular attention to the support of and communication with clinical staff. Required Work Experience: Must have, at least, one (1) year work, volunteer, or community service experience in ministry. Hospital experience and bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred. Other Information: CPE or equivalent preferred. Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree in Theology or relevant field of study.
