Opportunity Summary As a Scale House Operator, you will play a critical role in managing fuel deliveries by accurately weighing and recording shipments, maintaining inventory within MRP systems, and ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations. You will be responsible for conducting fuel quality checks, logging data, coordinating with drivers and procurement teams, and maintaining accurate documentation to support efficient operations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and accuracy are essential for success. Your scope of responsibility as Scale House Operator will include the following primary functions: Weigh and record incoming and outgoing loads

operate the scale system to accurately record weights of incoming and outgoing fuel deliveries and other materials. Utilize MRP systems

manage inventory, track orders, and maintain accurate records within Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. Fuel quality assurance

inspect the quality of incoming fuel deliveries, ensuring they meet required specifications. Fuel sampling and data logging

collect fuel samples, conduct basic quality checks, and log results in Excel or other tracking systems. Driver coordination and load entry

assist truck drivers with entering load information through the kiosk system, verify documentation, and complete required spreadsheets. Communication with fuel procurement

coordinate with the fuel procurement team to confirm suppliers are delivering the correct fuel type and quantity. Regulatory compliance

ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments comply with company policies and industry regulations. Reporting and documentation

maintain accurate logs, spreadsheets, and reports related to fuel inventory, quality, and deliveries. Work area maintenance

keep the scale house clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and operational standards. Customer and vendor interaction

act as a point of contact for drivers, suppliers, and internal teams, providing clear communication and issue resolution. Working Relationships The Scale House Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor and takes general direction from plant management. Additionally, this position will coordinate with all other plant personnel to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical demands include standing for extended periods, climbing multiple levels of stairs, climbing ladders over 50 feet in height, entering and exiting equipment cabs, traversing uneven or elevated surfaces, and working inside confined spaces. The role routinely requires lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks from elevated platforms or walkways. Work may be performed in conditions involving dust, wood particles, fumes, high noise levels, and extreme temperatures near operating equipment. Outdoor tasks in all weather conditions are required, including in high-heat environments adjacent to biomass processing systems. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory and may include hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, high-visibility clothing, steel-toe boots, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), respirators, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions are enforced in and around the facility to ensure plant safety and environmental compliance. Fitness for Duty All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening. Work Schedule The Scale House Operator will be assigned to one of two shifts, or have the option of rotating between: 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and/or 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. This position will also occasionally necessitate extended working hours and flexible shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays, in response to schedules, workload demands, and plant conditions. Periodic callouts or "On call" status will be required. Compensation This position has an available pay rate of $15 per hour. Core Qualifications and Skills Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. Experience with MRP systems for managing inventory and orders. Proficiency in shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and compliance. Familiarity with truck scale operations and weight recording systems. Strong skills in picking, packing, and labeling products accurately. Prior experience with forklift and, the ability to load and unload shipments efficiently and safely. Some experience with fuel sampling and quality control procedures is beneficial. Proficiency in Excel and data entry for logging fuel test results and shipment records. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in weights, inventory, and compliance records. Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues with scale systems, kiosks, or sampling equipment. Effective communication and customer service skills to coordinate with drivers, vendors, and internal teams. Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and structured work environment. Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
