Travel Controls Technician
Join our team as a Controls Technician where you'll play a crucial role in installing and commissioning conveyor systems. You will work in collaboration with various departments to ensure project success, while maintaining high standards for safety and quality. Responsibilities: Install and commission conveyor equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project manager and internal teams. Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer service departments to ensure project success. Maintain accurate project documentation and reports. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills: Field service experience. Construction knowledge. Electrical and PLC troubleshooting skills. Experience with conveyor systems. Pre-commissioning and commissioning experience. Willingness to travel 100% and work on the road for 30-60 days at a time. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Fluent in reading and writing English; understanding of Spanish is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ability to use mobile devices. Additional Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation, preferably in the conveyor industry. Experience with basic hand and power tools. Physical ability to work in a field installation environment, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Why Work Here? The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting items of at least 50 lbs. You will also be required to climb ladders and operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts in accordance with OSHA standards. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Clinton, Ohio. You will travel from your home site. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
