Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist

Develop and administer radiation therapy treatment plan under the direction of medical physicist and radiation oncologist. Design a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field to a defined tumor volume. Assist with or perform the application of a specific method of dosimetry, including intracavitary and the interstitial brachytherapy procedure. Assist with or perform the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices. Provide technical support for radiation protection procedure and qualitative machine calibration of equipment. Maintain radiation safety for self, co-worker, and patient in accordance with NRC guidelines. Assist physicist in the design and implementation of research activities and perform special projects related to dosimetry. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Medical Dosimetrist credentialed from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board obtained within 36 months (3 years) of hire date or job transfer date required. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
