Radiology Technologist
Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs. Position Responsibilities: Must have a command of radiographic technique. Must have command of medical imaging system and be able to assist other staff members as needed. Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views. Memorize what views each physician requires on exams. Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient. Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Stock necessary supplies. Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials. Assist with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists. Ensure equipment is in working order. Report any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner. Carry out radiology requisitions and views. Use radiographic technique, medical imaging system, and assist other staff members as needed. Operate all portables and C-Arm equipment (if applicable). Provide back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g. suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked (if applicable). Import and upload outside CDs for clinic. Experience: Required: None Preferred: Previous orthopaedic experience Education: Graduate from an accredited two-year radiology program or equivalent military program. Must be registered in radiography. Special Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association Knowledge of radiographic technique Knowledge of PACS Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy. Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements. This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned. Please note, if assigned for travel, this position will require a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).
