Machine Operator Helper
Join our dynamic team as a Machine Operator Helper, where you will utilize your advanced skills to operate various machines, including press breaks, saws, drills, turret punch, laser, and shear. You will ensure all machines are set up, programmed, and calibrated to meet product specifications, while troubleshooting and resolving complex issues. Responsibilities
Operate various machines at an advanced level according to standard operating procedures. Set up, program, and calibrate machines for production runs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex machine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems. Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements. Perform final quality checks on parts and assemblies. Train and mentor less experienced machine operators. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machines. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product designs and workflows. Maintain accurate records of production activities and machine performance. Follow and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols. Adhere to lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions. Essential Skills
Experience working with sheet metal, cut, pressed, and punched to strict tolerances. Expertise in CNC machine operations. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Strong leadership abilities with experience in training and mentoring junior staff. Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or associate degree in machine operation, engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in machine operations, preferably in press breaks, turrets, lasers, and shears. This role requires physical activity such as lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. You may need to climb portable ladders and use Personal Protection Equipment. The position requires good manual dexterity and coordination. You will work a temporary shift of 4:30pm-2am, Monday to Thursday, with a 15% shift differential, before transitioning to a full-time first shift or weekend shift with adjusted hours and shift differentials.
