Cardiovascular Technologist

The Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab). This role involves circulating, scrubbing, and documenting diagnostic and interventional procedures related to adult interventional, heart failure, and pulmonary services. The technologist will operate the necessary medical equipment and software while maintaining professional interactions with both customers and staff. The Cardiovascular Technologist provides care to patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab during diagnostic and interventional procedures. They circulate and scrub in interventional procedures, ensuring proper preparation and monitoring of patients. They record accurate data and images during procedures to support patient care and diagnostic needs. They operate medical equipment and software used in cardiac procedures. They collaborate professionally with medical staff and other healthcare providers to ensure quality patient care. They maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures. The minimum education and experience requirements include an Associate's Degree (AS) from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program, or an Associate's Degree (AS) from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program. Licensure/Certification/Registration requirements include being credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) if the candidate holds an AS Degree from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program. If the candidate holds an AS Degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program, they must have one of the following certifications issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT): Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) (preferred), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), or Radiography (R). Additional qualifications include strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
