Newberry Group seeks Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) for a potential contract to begin in the next sixty days. These positions are responsible for ensuring the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for DOD IT systems. Location: Colorado Springs, CO Hybrid position Clearance/Certifications: DoD Secret Clearance required, Current DOD 8140 certification required, such as: CGRC/CAP or CASP+ or CCSP or Cloud+ or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC required Contingencies: Contingent on Contract Award Primary Responsibilities:

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) plays a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems supporting the customer's mission. The ISSO is responsible for implementing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the cybersecurity point of contact for assigned systems and networks. Ensure compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 security controls. Develop and maintain system security plans (SSPs), risk assessments, and other required documentation. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and assessments. Coordinate with system owners, administrators, and other stakeholders to implement security measures. Monitor and report on cybersecurity incidents, ensuring timely response and mitigation. Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process and maintain continuous monitoring of systems. Provide cybersecurity training and awareness to system users and administrators. Collaborate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and other cybersecurity personnel to ensure enterprise-wide security posture. Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. At least 3 years of experience in information assurance or cybersecurity roles. DoD 8140 certification. Strong knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Experience with converting systems from Rev 4 to Rev 5 under the NIST guidance. Experience with security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and eMASS is preferred. Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills. Preferred Experience:

Prior experience working in a DoD or military academic environment. Familiarity with Air Force cybersecurity processes and tools. Knowledge of classified and unclassified system environments. Benefits and Perks:
