Applied Music Instructor
The Applied Music Instructor is a part-time faculty member responsible for providing one-on-one instrumental or vocal instruction. This position involves teaching private lessons to undergraduate students, guiding them in developing technical skills, musicality, and performance techniques across a variety of genres and styles. Applied Music Instructors are expected to contribute to the overall academic and artistic mission of the Department of Music, offering expert guidance in students' musical development, and preparation for juries, performances, recitals, auditions, and professional opportunities. While the primary responsibility is teaching, Applied Music Instructors may also engage in and contribute to the department's community and outreach activities. Prior Experience and Qualifications: A Master's or Doctoral level degree in Music required. Strong musical background and knowledge of instrumental/vocal literature. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and performance. At least one year of college-level teaching experience. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
