Strategic Sourcing Manager

Reporting to the Director, US Supply Chain, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will be instrumental in leading the strategic sourcing initiatives at CAE USA. This role requires a leader who can effectively manage relationships with suppliers, optimize procurement strategies, and ensure that sourcing decisions align with company goals. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management, with a focus on enhancing supply chain efficiencies and driving down costs. The ideal candidate will effectively manage relationship and influence internal and external stakeholders throughout the strategic sourcing process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leads the development of strategic sourcing plans simultaneously for multiple commodity categories through execution of Long Term Agreements, Blanket Purchase Orders, Kanban Systems, and Inventory Plans Supports and makes recommendations to facilitate Make vs. Buy strategy decisions Collaborate with Program Management Office and Engineering leadership to understand future design changes and the impact to material needs in the future Identify cost saving opportunities through process improvements, supplier/commodity consolidation and strategic negotiations Continuously monitor market conditions, industry trends, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing strategies Conduct market research to assess potential suppliers and opportunities for innovation and efficiency Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier performance and purchase order/subcontract compliance Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing processes, ensuring efficiency, transparency and compliance Develops channels of supply to achieve reduced lead time and inventory holding, increased quality and delivery and therefore lowest total cost Identify and mitigate sourcing risks, implement risk mitigation strategies and conducts supplier risk assessments Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelors in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field At least 7+ years experience in a similar position with a focus on commodity strategic sourcing Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management and strategy development process Expertise in supplier negotiations, contract/subcontract management and cost optimization Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization Strong communication and interpersonal skills Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources. Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
