Position Summary: Responsible for developing/maintaining a quality strategy consistent with internal and external best practices. Support Quality Management System certification through development, implementation, and maintenance of supplier quality processes and procedures. Responsibilities include involvement with international supplier quality activities and/or contract manufacturing. Job Responsibilities: Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain quality processes and procedures Maintain and develop consistencies in quality activities and systems including: Train and develop quality team members Maintain and enhance supplier rating systems, supplier focus groups, supplier manuals which also includes performing supplier quality surveys including key product audits Develop and implement quality metrics in support of continuous improvement Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, and Operations to consistently improve supplier quality corporate-wide Develop and maintain supplier warranty recovery system Manage the Quality Engineering APQP activities which include the development and maintenance of FMEA, control plans, gauging and measurement systems, statistical process control, inspection procedures, capability studies, and sampling frequencies Responsible for decision-making related to product quality and providing technical guidance on supplier issues; ensure sound problem-solving methods are followed for containment and corrective and preventive action Manage projects that support corporate strategic goals including continuous improvement Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required Qualifications

Job Skills Requirements: Comprehensive knowledge of quality practices and procedures including Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO requirements along with track record of achieving and maintaining same Proficient in quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, 8-D Problem-solving, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, etc. Familiarity with industrial internal combustion engines and/or natural gas compressors preferred Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people Comprehensive problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve complex technical process and procedural issues in a multi-location manufacturing environment; strong problem analysis and root cause problem solving skills Comprehensive technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes including Six Sigma, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD & T), layout and gaging; machining methods and assembly processes; statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques; knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); analytical and problem solving skills with project management skills a plus Syteline experience preferred Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements Ability to keep accurate records Proficiency with surface plate and height gage inspection, optical comparator, micrometers, bore gages, depth micrometers, calipers, and hardness testers, just to name a few, is desired. The candidate shall be familiar with CMM operation and knowledge of Brown & Sharpe CMM's and PC DMIS software would be a definite plus. Working knowledge of ISO Quality Systems and Tool Calibration would be beneficial as well. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field; or equivalent work experience Related professional certification(s) preferred Experience Requirements: Minimum of 7 years supervisory experience in Quality Control, Engineering, or equivalent
