Job Opportunity: Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in San Jose, California. This is a long-term contract position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting practices and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Manage general ledger activities and perform detailed account reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support organizational goals. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to support internal and external audits. Ensure the timely reporting of monthly financial information and monitor key deadlines. Reconcile bank and investment accounts to maintain accuracy and transparency. Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls. Analyze budget variances and provide insights into financial performance. Prepare regulatory reports for state agencies and other stakeholders as required. Mentor and guide less experienced accounting staff, offering support and expertise when needed. Requirements: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field. Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including corporate tax returns and sales tax. Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger activities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data effectively. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication skills for collaboration within teams and with stakeholders.
