The purpose of this position is to set up, operate, and tend paint systems in order to wash, paint, or apply varnish to boat trailers with meticulous detail, providing high-quality paint results that meet or exceed company standards. Responsibilities

Paint parts and product surfaces using spray guns and other paint tools to specifications. Regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperature, air pressure and circulation, as well as the flow or spray of paints. Prepare surfaces to be painted by filling small dents or scratches with body fillers, apply caulk, and seal seams to create smooth surfaces. Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers or finish coatings. Mix paints to match color specifications or original colors, stirring or thinning paints using mixing equipment. Weigh or measure chemicals, coatings, or paints before adding them to machines. Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers. Monitor equipment gauges and equipment performance to ensure accurate performance. Adjust controls on infrared ovens, heat lamps, portable ventilators, or exhaust units to speed the drying of surfaces between coats. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths. Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company policy. Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as runs or dry shot, and correct their causes. Participate in departmental and individual 5S tasks as assigned by the leader or manager. Ensure all actions comply with rules, regulations, and policies. Complete all other duties and cross-training activities as assigned. Essential Skills

Experience in manufacturing and industrial environments. Proficiency in painting, paint prep, and industrial painting techniques. Skill in using spray guns, sanding, and working in a paint booth. Experience with sandblasting, powder coating, and auto body repair. Knowledge of HVLP spray techniques and marine painting. Ability to mix paints and use a variety of paint tools. Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MARYVILLE, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.46 - $20.21/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
