Night Picker/Loader (Checker)
The Night Picker/Loader (Checker) is responsible for checking products picked on pallets against a pick list and loading products onto trucks for safe transport on the road. Position Summary: The Night Picker/Loader(Checker) works in a fast-paced environment and is expected to accurately check product picked and safely brace and load trucks error free. What You'll Do: Doors assigned at the start of shift for loads to be checked and loaded on appropriate trucks. Check refrigeration units for fuel, that they are turned on and temperature properly set. Check pallet stacks to ensure the stability of the load and allow for safe transportation to the customer. Count and verify accuracy of loads against pick tickets and sign for accountability. Stretch wrap the load from the base of the pallet to the top six revolutions. Operate pallet jack to move product and pallets from warehouse to inside of truck. Load wrapped pallets in appropriate truck by stop sequence (last load first and so on). Load using wide direction of pallets and ensure load is stable and roadworthy. Performs tasks as needed to maintain the overall cleanliness of the warehouse; shipping dock, aisle and coolers. Alternate yard jockey. Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence. Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms. Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department and prepare for shipping. Marks materials with identifying information. Opens bales, crates, and other containers. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Assists in billing process. Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers by location. Uses computer to enter records. Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications. Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment. Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor. About You: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Able to maneuver a hand jack and/or operate a pallet jack. Able to lift at a minimum of 50 lbs consistently. Able to read product codes and special instructions for orders. Work in cold temperatures ranging from -0 to 40 degrees. Able to interact effectively and productively with fellow co-workers while maintaining composure. Work schedule 6pm start - checkout with supervisor before leaving. Preferred Produce warehouse experience.
