Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for plant maintenance and support of the equipment throughout the plant. Working in partnership with the Maintenance Manager, they keep the plant and its primary electrical and mechanical systems running. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing food safety and food quality, as well as environmental safety in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Maintenance Technician III is an advanced-level role responsible for leading complex equipment troubleshooting, and supporting systems critical to production, packaging and facility operations, including wastewater treatment. Employee Type: Full time Location: IL Elk Grove Job Type: Production Group Job Posting Title: Maintenance Technician III Schedule: 2nd shift 2:00pm to 12:30am, Monday - Friday, with rotating for Saturday work based on production schedule. Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $33.10 to 36.15 per hour, which include the shift differential. Key Result Accountabilities

Operate and maintain all aspects of the wastewater treatment building including chemical handling, pump/motor controls, and accurate log keeping. Independently troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical, and pneumatic equipment. Perform detailed inspections and make recommendations for machine guarding, spare parts, and component integrity. Perform complex equipment relocations using blueprints and mechanical drawings. Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using shop tools. Lead preventive maintenance programs across systems and mentor junior technicians. Support MGP and SQF audit readiness through proactive maintenance and documentation. Ensure strict adherence to LOTO, PPE, and chemical safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of tasks in the CMMS. Qualifications

Minimum 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience Proven wastewater treatment experience (2+ years preferred) Advanced experience with industrial pump and motor system, including installation, diagnostics, and repairs. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and complex schematics. Prior food industry experience with knowledge of GMPs and SQF is highly desirable. Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Environmental Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will be expected to attend safety training, serve on the facility safety committee and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.
