O&M North Slope Construction

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing the full range of journey-level electrical duties, including installing industrial electrical systems. This position works with high- and low-voltage systems and performs all work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Essential Duties: Review conduit drawings, schematics, and electrical drawings and specifications to determine work requirements. Installs power, control and instrumentation circuits ranging from 24V DC up to 13.8KV. Installs electrical equipment and systems per applicable NEC and project specifications in commercial or industrial environments Installs electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, power panels and instrument and control junction boxes. Operate electrical equipment and tools such as hydraulic benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, and testers. Plan the layout of wiring/cabling of new and/or modified installations. Mentors Apprentice Electricians to ensure quality work and facilitate learning. Ensures all work is conducted in accordance with NEC and NFPA requirements, as well as local, city, state, and national electrical codes and all Company and Client standards. Other duties as assigned. Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures. Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations. Required Experience: A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required. A High School Diploma or GED is required. The ability to work 80.584 hours a week on a 2x2, 3x3 or 4x2 rotation is required. A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required. A minimum of four (4) years' experience working as a Journeyman Electrician in commercial and industrial construction. A State of Alaska Electrical License is required. Ability to provide your own hand tools, a detailed list of necessary tools will be provided. Preferred Qualifications: Five (5) or more years' experience working in a Construction/Industrial setting, the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry, and/or the North Slope/Arctic environment is preferred.
