Comfortable with basic general scans and protocols. Ability to understand concepts to get up and running quickly. Description: Unit involves imaging services including CT and X-ray. General certification requirements include BLS. Candidate must have ARRT certification for both modalities. Department has 1 CT scanner, 2 X-ray rooms, 1 portable X-ray, 1 U/S, and 1 Dexa. There may be occasional float or coverage requirements that will be disclosed during the interview. Common types of imaging and job duties include ER, inpatient, outpatient examinations, portables, trauma, and stroke-certified protocols. Average number of scans per day varies: 5-10 CT, 8-10 ultrasound, and 10-15 X-ray. Familiarity with EPIC and McKesson/Change Healthcare PACS is preferred. Department equipment includes Philips X-ray and portable machines, Siemens CT and X-ray equipment. Radiologists are available by call. Candidates must be able to start IVs for outpatient CT and possibly utilize point of care testing. This role has a set shift schedule with a team of techs. It requires weekend and holiday coverage but typically is not needed. There are no call or standby requirements. Scrub color or dress code is not specified. Orientation may last 1-3 days, or longer if needed. A medical imaging educator will assist with onboarding to address any gaps.
