Position Overview
We are seeking a confident, tech-savvy Controller to lead our accounting operations. This is a full-charge role responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including general ledger, job costing, WIP schedules, and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with a small but capable accounting team and play a key role in shaping financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle: GL, AP/AR, payroll coordination, job costing, and financial reporting
- Implement and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
- Manage WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
- Collaborate with clerical staff handling HR, payroll, billing, and 401(k) draws
- Support the company’s transition to Sage Intacct and train others as needed
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Ensure compliance with construction and subcontractor accounting standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an accounting leader at a general contractor or subcontractor
- Strong understanding of WIP, POC, and job costing
- Comfortable with accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred; hands-on, in-depth use of similar enterprise level accounting and field-ops software acceptable)
- Confident, self-sufficient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with service contracts and service-based revenue models
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $85,000–$115,000
