Job Description Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to patients in a Behavioral Health unit. As a Behavioral Health RN, you will be responsible for managing patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting patients with a variety of psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 (1:7 if floated). - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and evaluate patient care plans. - Conduct thorough assessments, monitor patient progress, and document all findings accurately in electronic health records (Epic). - Engage and support patients and their families, providing education and resources as needed. - Float between different Behavioral Health units as required, including Behavioral Health Units (BHU) and Crisis Decision Units (CDU). - Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Qualifications: - Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or compact state license must be in hand prior to starting. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in Behavioral Health nursing. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Safety Care certification preferred (training provided on-site if not obtained). - Experience in Psychiatric Emergency Departments (Psych ED) and EmPATH units preferred.
Schedule and Requirements: - Required to work 4 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per month. - Participation in on-call duties is not required, but flexibility to float to different units is essential. - Availability for pre-scheduled compliance modules prior to the start date.
