Job Summary
The Insider Threat Analyst plays a crucial role in safeguarding our organization by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating the risks associated with insider threats. This position entails monitoring employee behavior, assessing security alerts, and collaborating with teams in Human Resources, IT, and Security to proactively prevent potential threats.
Job Duties
Analyze complex datasets to monitor, triage, and escalate findings from detection tools.
Communicate risks and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Conduct investigations into suspicious activities in partnership with legal and HR departments.
Lead inquiries and produce comprehensive reports using a blend of technical and non-technical skills.
Identify incidents that exhibit insider threat characteristics based on known behaviors.
Perform interviews to collect information and ascertain the validity of potential threats.
Collaborate with team members to enhance and improve the Insider Threat program continuously.
Develop strategies for timely detection and response to insider threats.
Analyze anomalous events and uncover patterns through data analytics.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for effective incident resolution.
Evaluate and optimize monitoring and detection tools and processes.
Work closely with legal, HR, and governance teams to reduce insider threats.
Create and deliver insider threat training programs.
Collaborate with network security engineers to align resources with Insider Threat objectives.
Author and maintain policies and procedures related to insider threats.
Create analytical dashboards for reviewing insider threat cases.
Track and implement improvements to the program continuously.
Job Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience in Insider Threat programs and security threat monitoring.
Experience in security analysis, insider threat investigations, or law enforcement.
Strong knowledge of insider threat best practices and operational strategies.
Experience with data log analysis using UEBA tools or similar data analysis tools.
Familiarity with insider threat technologies like DLP, UEBA, and EDR.
Capability to work with security compliance policies and requirements.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in data collection, mining, and investigative techniques.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Strong business judgment for handling sensitive investigations independently.
Ability to assess risks to the business in real-time and manage projects efficiently.
Familiarity with AI/ML applications in security settings.
Knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and forensic tools.
Understanding of legal requirements regarding digital evidence and data privacy.
Attention to detail and a commitment to high professional standards.
Experience in computer forensics and intelligence analysis related to insider threats.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant certifications such as GCITP or CISSP.
Experience in digital forensics and incident response.
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Criminal Justice.
Familiarity with cybersecurity networking fundamentals.
Proficiency in Excel and SQL for complex data analysis.
Experience in creating PowerPoint presentations.
Background in compliance or audit programs.

Pay Range: $77,969 - $155,508 / ANNUAL
