Tax Managing Director (High-Net-Worth)
We are partnering with a fast growing, national public accounting firm, to help them find a Managing Director of High-Net-Worth tax to lead their Greenwich, CT office. This is a unique opportunity in that it includes acquiring a strong book of business due to the impending retirement of a Partner with the firm. We are partnering with a fast growing, national public accounting firm, to help them find a Managing Director of High-Net-Worth tax to lead their Greenwich, CT office. This is a unique opportunity in that it includes acquiring a strong book of business due to the impending retirement of a Partner with the firm. Key Responsibilities:
Lead client engagements and manage HNW relationships, including coordination with family office staff, investment advisors, and legal teams. Provide consulting, compliance, and advanced tax planning services to high net worth individuals, families, and their entities. Identify and implement tax planning strategies tailored to complex client needs. Guide and manage IRS and state tax audits. Serve as a key advisor to clients and be recognized as a thought leader in the HNW space. Participate in new business development through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships. Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and growth. Design and deliver technical training on individual, estate, and trust tax topics. Take on internal leadership roles through committee participation or team leadership responsibilities. Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field. Active CPA license (or equivalent credential such as JD or EA). Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in public accounting or a closely related field. Master's degree in Taxation or Accounting strongly preferred. Deep expertise in federal and state individual income taxation, gift and estate tax planning, and charitable giving strategies. Proven ability to deliver consultative, client-focused solutions to ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices. Experience working with trusts, private foundations, and closely held entities. Demonstrated success in business development and expanding client relationships.
