The Opportunity Leadership and Management:

Lead and manage a team of bioinformaticians, providing mentorship and guidance. Work with senior leadership to establish goals and objectives, including the definition of work products and timelines. May also participate in developing strategy and setting overall direction. Develop and implement strategic plans for the bioinformatics team. Ensure timely delivery of analyses and reports. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Attract, retain, and develop high-quality staff. Establish and maintain a high-performance work environment. Address training and professional development needs. Project Management:

Oversee bioinformatics aspects of NGS projects from start to finish. Coordinate with project managers, laboratory scientists, and stakeholders. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Bioinformatics Analysis:

Develop and implement pipelines, workflows, and tools for NGS data analysis. Perform quality control, alignment, variant calling, and annotation. Interpret and present results to scientific and non-scientific audiences. Design and apply novel computational methods and algorithms. Analyze large molecular datasets, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions. Develop and validate new software tools to aid interpretation. Research and Development:

Stay updated with advancements in NGS technologies and bioinformatics. Identify and integrate new tools and technologies. Lead research initiatives for novel approaches. Collaboration and Communication:

Work with molecular scientists, geneticists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate complex concepts clearly. Prepare and present technical reports. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure analyses and reporting comply with standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA). Develop documentation and SOPs. Participate in audits and inspections. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of bioinformatics experience focusing on NGS. Proven leadership and management experience in bioinformatics teams. Strong expertise in NGS data analysis with various sequencing technologies. Proficiency in Python, R, and Perl. Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., GATK, SAMtools, BWA, Ensembl, COSMIC). Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, FDA). Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills. Additional skills include experience in oncology or precision medicine, familiarity with EHR systems, cloud computing, scripting, software development in CLIA environments, SQL and NoSQL databases, data engineering platforms, and high-performance computing environments. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Additional Job Details
