Position: Scientist I Location: San Diego, CA Contract: 12+ Months, Full-time, 40 hours/week (Mon - Fri) BD Biosciences, a leading provider of antibody reagents for immunology research, is seeking a Scientist I for our Research Development team. The role involves developing and evaluating new reagents, performing routine testing of experimental samples, and analyzing data. The candidate should be detail-oriented, skilled in data analysis and troubleshooting, and capable of executing experiments of moderate scope. The Scientist I will be responsible for setting up experiments, analyzing results, documenting findings, and presenting data in lab meetings. They will prioritize daily workload, work under some supervision, and participate in data review and reporting. Specific duties include: Executing experiments with multi-color Flow Cytometry. Analyzing research data and troubleshooting as needed. Documenting and reporting test results. Interpreting and presenting data to team members. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Qualifications include hands-on experience with flow cytometry (BD flow cytometers preferred), software skills (BD FACS Diva, FlowJo, FCS Express, Microsoft Office), a Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, immunology, or related field, and 1-4 years of lab experience. Effective communication, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills are essential. This is an entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or those with limited experience but a strong interest in research and development in the life sciences.
