Description
Magnolia Companies has an immediate opening for a Plumbing Estimator in our Washington DC office. Our work covers a vast array of high-profile clients in a wide variety of projects including, but not limited to, government local & federal, schools, healthcare, multi-family, pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing. In this particular role you will prepare and submit bids for opportunities ranging from $25,000 to $3M.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate and pricing retrofit, plan/specs
Design - build projects for plumbing and mechanical scopes
Read & review job bid instructions, drawings and specifications
Preparing accurate take -off and compiling pricing
Utilize software/quick-pen to build estimates (ie Bluebeam, Trimble or PlanSwift)
Work in a team-oriented environment to transition awarded projects to the Project Manager
Manage various RFPs (request for proposals)
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Preferred
education in Construction Management Preferred
journeyman or master license in Plumbing or HVAC a plus 3 - 5 years of related experience in the Mechanical & Plumbing estimating process Reliable, detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of handling several tasks Strong administrative and computer skills for preparing proposals, scopes of work, and schedules Proficient in reading & interpreting architectural and MEP drawings Understand labor units, productivity factors, subcontractor coordination, and material pricing Ability to attend and document findings from job walks and pre-bid site visits Benefits include: - Company Truck - Fuel Card - 401K Matching - Health, Dental and Vision - Paid Time Off - Phone & laptop/ipad - Safety Incentive bonus
