Job Description At Nextracker, we are leading in the energy transition, providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar trackers and control software solutions for solar power plants, as well as strategic services to capture the full value of solar power plants for our customers. Our talented worldwide teams are transforming PV plant performance every day with smart technology, data monitoring and analysis services. Position Summary As a member of the Foundation Services team, Sr Field Applications Engineers (FAEs) provide R&D phase support, on-site technical and engineering field support for Nextracker’s Product Engineering teams and for customers on active project sites. The Sr FAE is responsible for successfully leading the integration of Nextracker’s foundation solutions by partnering with all stakeholders to resolve on-site issues through effective communication and collaboration. Additionally, the Sr FAE works closely with R&D Engineering and Product Development teams by conducting structured and ad-hoc field testing of hardware and machinery, providing detailed testing results, and identifying potential solutions to in-field issues. The role is suitable for individuals with formal engineering education, extensive field and construction experience, or both. We Are Looking For Someone Who Demonstrates Customer-centric approach with every interaction Creative problem-solving and innovative thinking for on-site issues Effective communication across stakeholders Strong organizational and project management skills Team collaboration and leadership abilities A drive for continuous improvement and high performance Key Responsibilities Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers for foundation solutions integration Lead and coordinate internal and external engineering teams globally Develop and improve internal processes and tools Collaborate with product and machinery engineering teams on solutions development Manage customer feedback and issue escalation, ensuring documentation and communication Resolve on-site issues efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction Drive technological improvements through analytical decision-making Travel to provide on-site support Design and execute field testing of foundation hardware and machinery Procure parts and support machine repairs on-site Design and deliver training for operators and engineers Work closely with R&D teams to mitigate installation issues and ensure customer satisfaction Identify and report safety concerns, leading safety initiatives Qualifications Experience: 5+ years in field engineering, applications engineering, or related technical fields Experience in renewable energy sector preferred Hands-on experience with heavy machinery, foundation installation, or construction Proven ability to resolve technical issues in the field Customer-facing technical support experience Management experience preferred Proficiency with hardware and software tools Survey or GPS experience preferred Education: Technical certificates in heavy machinery or construction-related fields Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, structural engineering, or related fields Advanced degrees preferred Experience may substitute formal education Knowledge & Skills Engineering principles, geotechnical considerations, structural analysis Construction safety regulations and best practices Knowledge of solar tracker systems and foundation installation techniques Mechanical and electrical component understanding Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Nextracker offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, 401(k), paid holidays, bonuses, and more.
