Commissioning Engineer

Commissioning Engineer ISG is seeking a qualified and experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our Building Systems Commissioning Team. This role offers excellent opportunities to ensure the quality and functionality of HVAC and Electrical systems across various sectors, including Education, Commercial, Food + Industrial, Housing, and Government + Cultural facilities. As an Employee Owner, you will collaborate with internal and external teams on construction projects for both existing and new facilities. ISG provides commissioning services for new constructions and existing buildings to ensure precise and optimal control of all building systems. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience : Experience in building systems commissioning, HVAC design, or maintenance, with hands-on interest and/or Building Automation System (BAS) Programming and Deployment experience (Technician or Design) An understanding of temperature controls, HVAC systems, lighting controls, and integrated building automation Familiarity with manual verification tools for HVAC, BAS, and logic functions Knowledge of troubleshooting HVAC and BAS systems Experience with ASHRAE commissioning processes through all construction stages and site safety practices Strong communication, diplomacy, and consensus-building skills, along with analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to test building systems, document deficiencies, and prepare final reports Ability to identify optimal operating setpoints and collaborate with building operators on system adjustments Certification in the Commissioning Process (CCP, CEM, or LEED AP) is preferred but not required An ISG Commissioning Engineer will : Ensure building systems operate optimally for energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, comfort, and operations through a thorough commissioning process Verify and document that systems meet specifications and design intent Plan, schedule, and perform commissioning activities Interface with contractors to ensure proper system installation and programming Collaborate with owners, occupants, and operators, contributing to improved indoor environments Perform functional testing of equipment and systems Document training and startup activities as part of quality control Assist in ongoing operator training Review designs for optimization and quality assurance Provide feedback to design teams ISG provides training and certification support, along with necessary testing tools.
