September 15, 2025 Position Summary: Wayfinder Biosciences is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Temporary Associate Scientist with extensive experience in mammalian cell culture to support ongoing research efforts for a period of four months. The ideal candidate will be proficient in maintaining multiple mammalian cell lines and running and analyzing cell based assays while working collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine and complex mammalian cell culture, including twice-weekly passaging, cell counting, and seeding for assay setup onsite at Wayfinder’s Seattle lab. Design and execute low to medium-throughput experiments, including cell viability assays. Prepare protein and RNA samples from cell lysate for downstream analysis Perform western blotting, including gel electrophoresis, transfer, and detection Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments and data in lab notebooks and digital systems. Analyze, interpret, and translate results into actionable and tangible findings. Ensure consistent adherence to lab safety procedures, SOPs, and best practices. Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate results in a timely manner. Required Qualifications: B.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related biological science field. 4+ years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture in industry or academia Demonstrated experience in performing cell-based assays Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, or equivalent. Experience in assay optimization and troubleshooting. Term:
