CDIM Engineering is seeking an environmental geologist to support our clients in contaminated site projects, as well as supporting our other core services: water quality, regulatory compliance, and site civil engineering. The ideal candidate will be a PG with 5+ years of experience managing environmental consulting projects. The work will involve supporting existing CDIM clients in subsurface investigation, sediment, PCB, RI / FS, groundwater modeling, and vapor intrusion projects. Based in our San Francisco office, our current and growing staff of nine professionals provides a diverse array of services to commercial and government clients, focusing on contaminated site work, EHS compliance, water quality, and site civil engineering. The ideal candidate will have a versatile skill set and an existing network of agency, driller, lab, and technical specialist contacts. Primary job duties and responsibilities include: Applying technical knowledge to CDIM projects involving environmental geology and hydrogeology; Developing and managing scope, budget, and schedule; overseeing subcontractors; interfacing with senior personnel, clients, regulators, and subcontractors; Contributing to company business operations according to skill set and desire; Planning, implementing, overseeing, and documenting field activities including drilling and sampling of soil, soil gas, groundwater, sediment, and air; Evaluating data to support conceptual site models, delineate contamination, and optimize long-term monitoring programs; Supporting site assessment and remediation, hydrogeology, and environmental risk management studies both in the field and office; Assisting in engineering remediation system design, including vapor intrusion mitigation and other remediation systems; Performing technical analyses such as database development, groundwater modeling, and geospatial analysis; Preparing technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates. Required skills and qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in geology; 5+ years of experience in the environmental industry; Professional license (PG); 40-hour HAZWOPER certification; Knowledge of California and federal environmental regulations and experience interfacing with regulatory agencies; Experience with environmental investigations and remediation technologies; Knowledge of soil, water, soil vapor, and air quality, including contaminants, regulations, and treatment processes; Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills; Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. The position is based in our San Francisco office, with remote work options, and involves regular travel to client sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
