This role will lead the effort to identify opportunities for long- and short-term CI strategies, working closely with cross-functional and operational teams to implement efficiencies and measurement methods. The strongest candidate will have a solid strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach, as time spent on the production floor will be essential for understanding where CI opportunities exist and their impact on business metrics and team dynamics. This position will contribute to systems analysis, design, redesign, and reengineering of processes, systems, procedures, and operational changes to increase efficiency, safety, and effectiveness.
Requirements
Conducts CI activities across operations (production floor, warehouse, FSQ, product commercialization, etc.)
Develops and implements long- and short-term CI strategies, collaborating with production, planning, maintenance, and warehouse teams to enhance capacity, reduce lead times, improve delivery, and boost product quality
Performs routine reviews and reports on CI activities, summarizing results for management
Uses lean tools to diagnose operational processes
Optimizes resource use to manufacture at the lowest possible cost
Facilitates and guides teams in developing countermeasures for layout, process, and equipment issues
Develops management control systems for cost control and analysis
Applies Lean and Six Sigma principles to identify waste and redundancies, designing and implementing efficiencies
Partners with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve business processes, establishing metrics and performance criteria
Facilitates training in Lean manufacturing techniques
Works with teams to assess, prioritize, and implement CI activities, including Kaizen blitzes and Lean events
Manages software tools for KPI tracking and process improvement (Ross, Redzone, Oracle)
Develops and monitors metrics related to improvement activities, standardizes processes, and automates data collection where possible
Designs dashboards and reports for operational decision-making
Acts as Project Manager for strategic projects, ensuring stakeholder communication and project success, and providing leadership to production teams
Defines and measures project success through specific metrics and summaries
Background Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business
At least 5 years of progressive operations analysis experience in manufacturing
Understanding of production, food safety, quality, safety, supply chain, and engineering principles
Practical knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools (5S, Kaizen, Fishbone, Five Why’s, DMAIC)
Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for interpreting lean results and influencing change
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
Physical and Location Requirements
Ability to stand, lift, walk, reach, stoop, bend, and see to perform job duties
Work conditions vary, with temperatures from 5 to 90°F, exposure to machinery and hazards, high noise levels, and damp floors
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods
This role is located in Union City, CA
Salary $120,000.00 to $140,000.00
