Role Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage core accounts payable (AP) functions, PO processing, and accruals while contributing to financial reporting on the liability side. This role works closely with the Cost Accountant, Project Manager, and Real Estate Development team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to expand responsibilities over time, supporting broader finance initiatives as the company grows, while ensuring proper segregation of duties within the Finance team. Key Responsibilities: Process high-volume vendor invoices with accurate 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) Verify invoices are coded correctly, approved per policy, and matched to purchase orders Identify and resolve PO discrepancies with internal departments; monitor open POs and book accruals as needed Maintain accurate vendor records, oversee the Vendor Onboarding Process, and ensure up-to-date contact/payment details Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly Coordinate communications for vendor inquiries professionally and ensure timely payment issue resolution Support month-end close activities related to AP, including liability accounts, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting Provide documentation and explanations for audits as required Collaborate with procurement, project management, and development teams to ensure accuracy in financial transactions Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies (Preferred) Understand CapEx and OpEx cycles to support project-based accounting needs Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in accounts payable and liability reporting Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with AP automation tools a plus What Success Looks Like: Accurate, timely AP processing with minimal discrepancies Clear and up-to-date vendor and PO records Strong collaboration with development and project teams ensuring financial accuracy Reliable month-end close and audit support without delays Compliance with accounting policies and segregation of duties maintained Seniority level
