Purpose of Position

We are seeking a seasoned leader with deep expertise in developing and commissioning complex manufacturing processes and automation systems. This role will lead a growing team of engineers and technicians to deliver world-class production capabilities for our helmet manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in PLC development and a forward-looking vision for digital manufacturing platforms. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role will oversee global process development for both existing and new helmet programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead process development from NPI through full-scale manufacturing for Military and Commercial head protection products. Act as the primary liaison between product development and manufacturing for new or revised process implementation. Establish process standards, analyze efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support. Support TPM system development to improve operational capacity and OEE. Manage internal technology transfers between manufacturing sites to meet capacity needs. Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing to implement digital platforms for operator instructions, productivity tracking, traceability, and efficiency reporting. Partner with IT to deploy and manage a world-class MES system across production locations. Provide leadership and development for a team of manufacturing and process engineers and technicians across multiple sites. Build and maintain relationships with equipment and tooling suppliers; lead technical evaluations and decision-making. Support supplier qualification audits as a technical expert. Ensure compliance with internal processes, ISO standards, and external customer requirements (e.g., DoD). Champion continuous improvement and Kaizen strategies across sites. Own change controls and deviations related to process equipment and suppliers; lead investigations and governance escalations. Author and review procedures and training materials as needed. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies that support business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering discipline. 10+ years (B.S./M.S.) or 8+ years (Ph.D.) in medium to high-volume manufacturing environments, with experience in process engineering, validation, and tech transfer. Proven track record in scaling manufacturing processes from development to commercialization. Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems; familiarity with DoD/DCMA guidance preferred. Experience leading process oversight in multi-site environments, including raw material qualification, process monitoring, and regulatory compliance. Strong project management skills, including budgeting, metric tracking, and reporting. Excellent organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong technical writing and documentation capabilities. Willingness to travel up to 50%, domestically and internationally.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $150,000 to $190,000 Annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
