B Capital is seeking a pre-MBA Associate with a strong drive to support the investment process end-to-end for our Growth Fund team focused on enterprise software. Key responsibilities include identifying new investment opportunities through research, analyzing market and sector trends, evaluating deals, conducting detailed business and financial due diligence, and monitoring portfolio company performance. The role covers various sub-themes within enterprise software such as cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps / Dev tools, AI / ML, and application software. The ideal candidate demonstrates maturity, flexibility, intellectual curiosity, and a proven ability to translate ideas into action. BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Market research Develop market research and investment theses to inform sourcing efforts. Identify new investment opportunities aligned with research and investment themes. Deal screening and evaluation Assess the viability of investment materials from potential companies. Lead diligence processes on investment opportunities, including financial modeling. Building company value Provide high-touch support to portfolio companies through value-added initiatives. Monitor and manage portfolio company performance. BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS : 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred (e.g., top-tier consulting, investment banking, operating experience at a tech or venture-funded company, or equivalent). Proficiency in detailed financial modeling (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and market research (valuation comparisons). Understanding of market trends and potential investable opportunities. Familiarity with venture capital financial concepts (e.g., cap table, returns modeling) and standard terms. Strong writing, presentation skills, and experience in creating slides and memos. Experience with enterprise software and technology deals is advantageous. Prior VC investing experience is a plus but not required. This role is based in San Francisco, with a hybrid work model (2 days in-office or willing to relocate).
